This exciting exhibition looks into Childhood & Toys across generations.
Childhood and Toys runs from May until December 2010.
Saturday 22 May saw the exhibition launch with a children's tea party theme - with special guest appearances from Clive the 'Dalek' and 'Rudyard Kipling' (aka Geoff Hutchinson).
The guests, including Society of Bexhill Museums members and contributors to the temporary exhibition, were treated to an official exhibition opening speech by 'Rudyard Kipling', taking those in attendance back in time with reminiscence of days spent at the Bexhill Motor Racing events and accquaintance with Henry Sargent.
Clive the 'Dalek' then 'ushered' guests, in the only way a Dalek knows how, into the Education Room where the tea party began. This was followed by a fascinating talk by Geoff Hutchinson in the character of Rudyard Kipling.
This fantastic launch event and exhibition; coordinated by Claire Eden, Head of Education and Costume and Social History Collections Manager, with the assistance of the Society of Bexhill Museums Events Planning Team, was enjoyed by all.
Entrance to The Childhood and Toys exhibition is included in the museum admission rates - for details and opening times please visit the Your Visit page.
