At the end of the 19th
Century
Bexhill became know for its health giving air and its clear spa
waters attracting the rich and the famous who also availed
themselves of the revolutionary seafront cycling boulevard.
After the first
world War
Strong links with the Indian Raj at the beginning of the
20th century
influenced much of Bexhill's seafront architecture and during the
1920s and 1930s artefacts were added to the museum collection from
India,
Egypt and Africa, donated by residents who had returned from service
abroad
Access Centre
The interactive
Access Centre
is the latest and the most exciting Innovative development since the
museum first opened. One is able to click through time, access documents,
explore unique collections, research projects, hear famous voices
from the past and view pictures and films that would otherwise be
impossible.
